With the support of the team at NDLTCC and her husband (who helped care for their 6-year old son) Lucy graduated the PN program and is now a practicing LPN.

Single parent and mother of five

From the time she was 14 she wanted to become a nurse but the commitments to her family and raising her children always came first.

In her own words Dailia tells us of her accomplishment: “I was told that I would amount to nothing and would never provide anything for my children outside of a welfare check. Today, I stand before you a nurse, a homeowner, the proud and successful mother of 5 wonderful kids. I could not have done it without all the help and support from my friends, family, co-workers and career counselors.”

Dailia is now an LPN at Notre Dame.
